/* ── THE TYPE SCALE · one source for every page · 15 Oct 2026 ───────────────
Anna, 15 Oct 13:21, on /money: "the body text is too small. Way too small,
hard to read, and doesn't increase as I widen my window." The same fault as
23 Sep on the circle pages (ae37b90), where the fix lived inside each page -
so the next page was born small again. This file is the fix for the CLASS:
every page links it, and a page sets its reading text with these tokens,
never with its own number. tools/type-floor-check.mjs measures the result in
a real browser and fails below 18px at 1280px.

FOUR STEPS, and the gaps are the point (14/15/16/17 is four steps in three
pixels - the muddle the 23 Sep scale ended):

--fs-label 14px capitals only: eyebrows, kickers, letterspaced labels
--fs-ui 16px buttons, nav, footer, fine print, captions, sources
     --fs-read 19 → 24px READING TEXT - every paragraph she reads (21.8 at 1280)
     --fs-lede 21 → 27px the larger lead paragraphs

THE READING CURVE, measured (15 Oct, headless Chrome), raised at her 13:38
("still too small ... like a printed book on her laptop"):
     clamp(19px, 1rem + 0.45vw, 24px)
       390px 19.0px - a phone: the 23 Sep floor, above her 18px line
       1024px 20.6px
       1280px 21.8px - a laptop: a printed book's reading size
       1440px 22.5px
       1680px 23.6px
1920px 24.0px - a wide screen: the cap; past it lines grow long, not kind
   The old tier, clamp(19px,1.35vw,21px), stayed at 19px until 1407px - a window
could double in width and the text not move, which is exactly what she saw.
The rem term lets a woman's own browser text-size setting carry through.

LINE LENGTH grows with the type, so reading blocks are held to --measure
(60ch - a "ch" is the width of a zero, wider than the average letter, so 60ch holds ~70 characters a line, measured on /money at 1920px) wherever a page lets prose run wide.
